Tropical Storm Bonnie @ Fisher Island
Updated: Wednesday, September 08, 2010

Tropical Storm Bonnie landed ashore near Marathon, Florida; approximately 114 miles south of Fisher Island, between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm. The storm is travelling on a northwest track at 19 miles per hour and has sustained winds of 40 miles per hour.@

We should expect to see the worst of this storm between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. During that time, we may see gale force (35 miles per hour) wind gusts and 1 to 4 inches of rain. The barges will be shut down from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.  The ferries will run on a normal schedule as long as the winds are less than 40 miles per hour. Please expect delays from time to time, however, we do not anticipate any long term delays for the ferries. A storm surge of 1 to 3 feet is expected.
