For the most part, Fisher Island has remained relatively immune to the wildly fluctuating tides of the South Florida real estate market. Generally speaking however, luxury condos have taken a major hit in terms of sales in the past which has lead to halted projects in cities like Miami Beach. Is that still the case almost a year later?
Along with Miami Beach, Fisher Island condos appear to have a slight comeback of sorts. Near the end of July, there were three condo listings in Fisher Island being advertised at $3,000 per square foot. Does this mean luxury condos are making a strong comeback? The answer might be “not quite”.
Currently buyers can be generally grouped into two categories: those who require some sort of financing are choosing not to buy and those who can pay all cash for property like Fisher Island condos. While it's still too early to tell whether this uptick will continue, it's some good news for a neighborhood that has weathered the effects of the market downturn quite well.
