During the upcoming weeks the Mainland Ferry Terminal on Macarthur Causeway will be undergoing necessary structural repairs. The major part of the work that will affect traffic flow is scheduled to begin August 16 and should be completed by September 24. The project has been broken down into four phases facilitating the ability to keep the terminal open. It will be necessary to have lane closures during each phase of the project, therefore we plan to have additional security as well as flag crews that will help guide you to the proper lanes during each phase. We will also operate additional ferries as needed to streamline traffic flow.
During these weeks all vendors and construction vehicles will not be permitted to access the island through the ferry, and will be required to use the barge system out of the Port of Miami. To reduce inconvenience and so as not to negatively impact your home renovation schedules, additional barges will be scheduled as needed.
