Unless you live on Fisher Island or keep up on its everyday happenings, you might’ve missed some interesting recent news, news you’ll particularly enjoy if you live or frequently visit the island. After some lengthy work that began in 2007, the first phase of a massive $55+ million dollar upgrade at the Fisher Island Club has been completed.
The next time you visit the Fisher Island Club you’ll find brand new bars, restaurants and the beach area that has been extended, making it much longer than it was originally. Although Fisher Island homes and the neighborhood don’t need to compete with anyone, the upgrades are meant at least partially as a means of competing with other high end resorts.
Becoming a member of the Fisher Island Club requires paying an initial fee of $250,000 in order to become a basic member and annual dues of $18,500 if you already own Fisher Island real estate. Non-residents are also allowed membership but have to pay fee significantly higher initiation fees and annual dues.
